Muffler

Ok.. my oem muffler when to crap.. with 100k miles on it. Now i want to put on something that has alittle sound to it. I was thinking going with a universal muffler that is listed on ebay.. Does anyone have any input into this please feel free. My main concern is that using a universal it that it may too much work to make it fit. I am going to post a couple of auctions.. also would the inlet and outlet size fit.

That muffler is not even close to a factory muffler. To make it work would not only be impossible due to space restrictions, but it will also look like hell, perform even worse, and probably sound pretty raunchy.

Keep an eye on the ebay, a used dansk or something will come along. I just threw out my stock muffler after letting it sit in my garage a year, wish I could have helped.

Definitely look around...you can pick up a used Box muffler for cheap. Post a WTB, as I'm sure just like maxferran, people have them laying around their garages collecting dust.

I have no idea what that "thing" is you posted...might go well with someone's truck.

I agree with the other two responses: that muffler is not going to work for a boxster. Take a look under your car, at your OEM muffler, and picture all of the work that would need to be done to modify those Ebay mufflers to make them fit.

IMO you should look around for a used Boxster S muffler and do the "Pedro" bypass on it. That way you have a great looking muffler that sounds sweet, and has no drone. Aftermarket mufflers, with exception to a dansk muffler, have drone which gets to be too loud. I have a muffler from Imagine Auto which sounds great, I love roaring around town; but the drone coming from it on the highway when cruising home after a long day of work can drive you insane!!! At some point I plan on switching back to an OEM muffler.

Garage
On Sunday I sold my OE muffler on Craigslist for $30 because it was just sitting around and I was tired of looking at it.

Another guy has the identical muffler listed for $300!
