I made a decision! Bought the Dunlop certificate from FTD and ordered the SP Sport Maxx.

FTD was selling a certificate good for a set of Dunlop tires, any size, any model.

I'm curious why you didn't get the Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec?
Seems like a better DE tire.

Tommy, I agree. For DE the Z1 Star Spec would be better. I do a few DE events but most of my driving is commuting to and from work so I compromized with the Sport Maxx which I felt would last a little longer.

Chris Zang, did you end of getting the Direzza Star Specs? If so, how do you like them? It's almost time for new tires and I'm seriously considering these after doing some research. If anybody else has experience with the Star Spec tire I like to hear your impressions. Thanks!

Second the vote for Dunlop Direzzas - Read the reviews and look at any recent SCCA National Tour or Pro Solo results in the ST, STS or STU classes.
