Top works fine, but light stays on

Any idea where the switch that controls the dashboard idiot light is? My top works very well, but for the past couple of days the dashboard idiot light for the top has been staying lit.

I'm thinking that maybe a switch is gummed up and needs cleaning/replacing. I just don't know where to look for the switch.

Any help/ideas appreciated.

Thanks,
Jeff - 2001 Boxster

Keep your finger on the dash switch for as long as it takes to turn off the light.

Otherwise you have a problem with the top.

These Box sensors are a finicky type. It may self correct or a quick trip to service and they can reset them for you. Takes 5 minutes.

Good luck

yeah what he said. If its warm enough where you are, lower the top slightly, cose it again and hold down the button until the top light turns off. Report back if the light goes back on again while you are driving. doubt it will.

It didn't work this morning, but it's supposed to be in the mid 70's today, so when I drive home with the top down tonight, I'll try it again. Otherwise, I'm due for my next scheduled service, so while I still have a month's worth of factory warranty left, I'll bring it to their attention when I drop it off next month.

Worked like a charm this evening. I guess I was just letting up on the button too early. Thanks!

Get one of these and never worry about not pressing the button long enough ever again! It has worked well for me for the past year with no issues. Install was straightforward.
