If you are looking for some good perfomance rubber that is reasonably priced, check into the Dunlop Direzza Star Spec tires. 18's came to around $800. If you have 17's then it would be even less. I couldn't tell you what a good all season would be for the boxster, but the Toyo Proxes work well on my Mazda 3.

I picked up some UHPs on a friend's recommendation. They are okay for an inexpensive tire, but they are not very grippy compared to others in the High Performance tire category.

I've done a number of Auto-x's with these and they are a HORRIBLE choice for Auto-x.
