Logo removal
The other day I was wiping the wax off of my rear bumper when I heard a very distinct crack. Sure enough, the corner of the towel caught the tail of the “B” on my Boxster logo and snaped it off. My first thought was, “now I can get that 986 logo”. But instead I decided to just replace it with original Boxster logo.
I ordered the logo from BumperPlugs.com and now the question is, what is the best way to get the old logo off? Hair drier and credit card scraper? Maybe a little goo gone and rubbing alcohol?
Side note, the guys at BumperPlugs.com are great to work with. I had to call them up to make sure they had the titanium logo for my ’03 S. No problems. If you haven’t already, check out the site and all of the trim pieces and what not they have available.

Take off rest of emblem with dental floss. Use WD 40. Spray on and let it sit for a long time. Use a cloth and work off the crap as it lossens. Repeat until gone.
Hair dryer will speed the action a bit.
NO SCRAPPER.
To me GOO GONE is slower than WD 40.

BumperPlugs.com has the 986 logo in silver for $99. I think they can paint the logo to match any factory finish.

Just get a can of silver spray paint and some clear coat. I painted mine and it was super easy. The finish has held up for over 6 months and it's a lot more cost effective to do it yourself in twenty minutes. You can get the 986 logo for $25. Paying an additional $75 to paint this is ridiculous. For the extra $75 you could get a can of color matched paint, primer and clear coat from a place like expresspaint.com and still have plenty of paint left over to paint something else. Like your bumperettes, door pocket lids, etc.

I used dental floss to remove. Make sure it's the waxed type. Also use lubricant like a quick detailer spray.
