To replace exhaust is it safe to only use 2 jack stands?

Place the jack here... http://986forum.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=4420&stc=1 with a piece of wood to distribute the load and then place the jack stands at the 2 rear lift points. My floor jack is not low profile so I back the car onto 2 pieces of 2x8 wood to raise it up a little bit so I can move the jack handle enough.
