The extreme opposite of my Boxster is my 2004 Yukon Denali. All function and no form. I do have 20" rims however. Ha

My other car is a Jet. :)

1995 Lexus LS400. 98k on the odometer and running as quiet as ever. Can't find one good reason to get rid of it even though it's ten years old.

I've got the best of both worlds.

I don't have another car. No need for one.

A 2003 Grand Am and a 1977 924GT conversion.

No argument here.

More about that 924 GT Conversion please!

The conversion is still in the works, it's tough finding the right parts for a car that old/ rare. No intercooler yet {a guy sells one or two per year on eBay, it will work but it isn't the right one} and it still has the 4cyl with 4 bolt wheels {I won't get the engine until I'm sure I can have a complete car}. I have bits and pieces {the brake components, fiberglass body, seats, lights, the cheap stuff etc...} but the big items {engine etc...} are MIA. I have talked with Stephen Kaspar at Imagine Auto since he has done these conversions before and owns one. He claims it took two years before he found his I/C. He also says it will be a lot of work making any parts fit/ look right. As I am not a mechanic {don't ask why I started this project} I have a small team of pros in the city helping me, one each for the mechanical, electrical and body.

A brief history on the car. It was purchased in Germany and the second owner started converting this car in 1987, he then sold it in 1992 to a greek man working in Zurich as professor, then the car was imported to Canada. It still runs very well with 126,000Kms and it still has the orginal CGT body fitted in 1987. I like the lines and quality of the body on it now but it isn't the true shape of the car I'm looking for.

A Kia Sportage...nuf said...besides that it sucks!

Cole 01-08-2005 06:47 PM

Just curious..how in the world did you choose to buy a Kia?

IceBox 01-09-2005 08:14 AM

Well...a family friend operates a Kia dealership, and my father always bought cars from him (from a GMC dealership he also owns). Since my dad's passing, I thought I'd keep the 'tradition' alive by continuing the trend. As my winter needs weren't that great, and he had a Sportage on the lot, I thought "Hey, how bad can it be? It's cheap but it looked ok." Clearly, one must put as much research into their winter car choices as their summer car. Put it down to sentimentality over-ruling common sense. I admit it freely...I'm a tool!
