Smile What's your spoiler say?

Hey fellas,
I've seen the vinyl stickers on some of the retractable spoilers such as "Boxster," "986", etc.. help me get creative here! I want to put one on there that is a little bit humorous/philosophical/not ordinary. ("see ya!", "don't tailgate", "i brake check")

This car full of blondes drove past me today and i was thinkin,
"Blondes Welcome" lol

anybody?

i'll put someone's website on there for a small fee
or i can support the board if they had vinyls available for it

what are ya'lls ideas?

Mine says, "Porsche."
It's not very creative, but it looks nice, and I like it. I would avoid anything offensive, and stick with something classic like, "Speedster, Spyder, Boxster, 986, Porsche," but I have seen some people who do thinks like, "Ye'haa!" It's up to you, it's your car.

Mine says "You have just been passed by a girl". This might be a good time to mention that my drives mine.
I just make sure that when I pass people that I do it so fast they don't get a chance to read it, I am one ugly girl

Mine also says PORSCHE in the correct font in white 4 inch letters. I too was trying to think of something more creative, but after giving it a long thought I stayed with Porsche. I do have a vinyl cutter and do some graphics on the side if you need something cut PM me.

clever. but only those fluent in German would even get it....

I haven't put a sticker on my spoiler - but was also thinking of putting something there.

Maybe a nice Porsche crest sticker? Or the POrsche logo in the right font? my car is totally badge deleted on teh back..it was like that when I bought it - but I was thinking of putting the Boxster logo back, or maybe doing the 986 numbering...

I removed "Boxster S" from the rear deck lid (looked cheap) and now the car has a nice, big smooth ass! I went to the dealer and bought a new plastic Boxster S logo because I destroyed the one I took off and stuck it on the spoiler. That way, people know what just blew by them. And yes, it does clear when deploying and retracting the spoiler.

I like it. Plus it sounds right - like wind and speed. If you hadn't explained it, I would have looked it up, so 23109, I don't think the people that would get it or appreciate it would be limited, if you really like it.

Now Quickurt, that Japanese bit in your sig - that's totally out there. Even since you have added an explanation, I'm still, you know, like duh uh?

As to my .02 for a spoiler message, having nothing is in keeping with the understated design, function, and sophistication of the OEM spoiler. But I am a Less is More person.

ahh i love that!
i also love the "bye" one! (im mostly german)

Hey Mark, thanks for the offer! when/if i decide what to put ill be contacting you!

haha, here's one that would be fitting for me: "Late for work"

maybe the cops would be more lenient? lol

also because of my age, i get a lot of "ah is that your dad's?"...
so a "yes it's mine" sticker would be funny too!

I have been having so much fun learning Japanese! I bought the Pimsleur set of 60 (1/2 hour) lessons on 30 CDs.
I was looking for "987s rule", but reign of 987 was as close as I could find.

After saying it out loud a few times I liked it. It is not as hard as it looks because "shichi" is actually pronounced "shtee".
The "hoochi ku" was just "too cool"

Since Mazda is my second largest customer, learning the language is a respect thing for my Japanese engineer friends and I don't want to insult them owning a Porsche. On my rear window is die cut lettering which says, in proper mazda font, "My other car is a Mazda"

Why not convert one of those scrolling message boards, so you could say all of the above, when the mood suits you.

Very cool! Thanks for the explanation! The only regret I have in my life is that I didn't move to Japan for a year after undergrad school to learn Japanese. My parents told me it was a dumb idea and I listened to them.

Even though I prefer no words on my spoiler, there are some GREAT ideas here. My faves:
  • scrolling message board haha!
  • Porsh-uh! I know P owners that say Porsh!
  • Tschuess
  • Auf Wiedersehen
  • Mach Schnell or Schnell
What's German for "FUN"?

So you want your spoiler sticker to say "Shtee 986"? The way I pronounce that it really doesn't sound too good!

Illegal... at least in California. Scrolling message boards are specifically called out in California code as illegal. I imagine it's the same in most other states.

That's a good one. Schnell is cool too.

If I were to get a shop to make the sticker, do you guys know what's the curvature for aligning fonts? Thanks.

Found this in wiki:

"It has historically been more common in Northern Germany, though it has gained country-wide acceptance and also commonly used in Bavaria, Austria, Trentino-Alto Adige in Italy and Switzerland. However, in Southern Germany it is more common for the informal farewell ciao or adieu to be used. The farewell Auf Wiedersehen is considered appropriate in more formal settings."

Auf Wiedersehen is wayyy toooo longgg to fit.

Sorry I have to revisit this thread now that the weather is warmer I want to stick something on it.

Mach Schnell

I put "Mach Schnell" on my spoiler. I know the dictionary translation is "Make Quick". But, having lived in Germany for ten years I can assure you that to a German it is the equivalent of the American "Hurry Up!"

I've seen a board member here with "Kills Bugs Fast." Thought it was pretty cool.

I have a plain silver PORSCHE decal on mine.
