My bet

is $19k. Your mods, while impressive, will appeal only to a limited audience and you never ever get anything like full cost back on mods. So you can price it anywhere ...high and hope for the perfect fit (which could come along the first day) or set the price at slightly less than stock and hope for a wider audience because of the price point.

There is a 98 over on the another forum's classifieds with a 3.4 that has been for sale for a month priced at $20.9k. More a classic in mods than yours sounds like it is.

In current economy I think market price is going to be tough to determine. I dont think you will find many people looking to buy a performance car period.

I'm slowly doing similar mods to my 99. Guess if I had opportunity to by a car already converted I probably would be willing to part with about $20K on a car like yours.

Given that its becoming easier to find nice sub $10K Boxsters all prices are getting dragged down.

Thanks for the replies. Definitely mods dont return anything near their cost. The car is fun, and a great drive, and I dont need to sell. Still the "itch" for something new keeps biting me!!

This is a great time to buy a performance car, but not sell one!

I have a barely related pricing question. I've been craving a Boxster since I test drove one in the spring, but my price limit right now is $25K. My plan was to buy in the winter of '09, because I'd like to get into a 987.
Historically, how much do prices drop during the winter months? I've noticed prices dropping now, but I'm not sure if it's the season, or the economy. If prices were unusually low this winter, I would buy now, while the economy is in the crapper!
Thanks,
Steve

I got a steal on the 987 in the beginning of the summer. Due to the economy more people are selling and less are buying. That with winter the prices are dropping. A 26K 987 might be more common soon.
