What are some good mods for my 01 "S"?

I have read about de-snokling, and I think I am going to do that. I also read something about clear lights, but I haven't been able to find much out about that. Anyone have more info on that? Also, what are some other mods people have done to their Boxster?

Short shifter

Rear Speakers

18 inch wheels

Interior goodies like new trim pieces

That is a start!

Have fun!

Speaking of de-snorkeling, I did it today and was pleasantly surprised by the difference in sound it made. I was expecting very little to no change in sound, but it turns out I was too cynical with what people said about the difference in sound. The car definitely howls much more when you get on the gas above 4k now. Go for it - free mod (except any skin you may lose on your hand/knuckles)

Did you follow the de-snorkeling procedures posted on ppbb.com? How long did it take you? Did you put in a screen for protection from road trash?

Yea, went with the instructions on ppbb - it's easy. Took me about 15 minutes - 20 mintues. I didn't put in a screen protection.

Anyone have a picture of what this looks like? Is the advantage just the "enhanced" sound from the engine?

I've posted instructions/photos for this process in the technical chat section of this forum. It's basically done just for the enhanced sound. See following link:

Click here for instructions on removing snorkel

Cole, the clear euro tail lights can be had for onlu $200 bucks on suncoast porsche I believe. Pelican parts also has some good deals. Clear side markers are also a nice cheap asthetic upgrade for 25 bucks. Alot of people upgrade the intake to the EVO system or BMC and K&N filters. Dansk seems to make a good set of headers for a nice price. Fabspeed makes a set of bypass pipes that replace one set of cats to free up the exhausts flow for better sound/performance at $500.

I think that would be a good way to modernize your boxster. Clear lenses look great on black cars. Might want to chip in the extra 25 for the smoked/clear side markers as well. Amber is way "out."
