Steel wheel lugs?

In getting ready for my first DE event, I keep reading that I should make sure I have steel lugs rather than alloy. So do Boxsters have steel or alloy lugs? I haven't been able to find anything anywhere indicating which the Boxster has.

Your Boxster was ready for a DE event when she rolled off the showroom floor. Just make sure the tires and brakes are in first rate condition. If you have not changed the fluids in over a year that is good prep for reliability but not required.

You are most likely referring to the cars that have the alloy nuts (911, 944, etc). First, they are OK if properly torqued. If you are running a car with sticky tires, tech usually likes to see that the lug nut is properly engaged; hence, steel open end nuts. Your Boxster has bolts that were engineered to thread into the hub a certain distance. As long as they are properly torqued, you will not have a problem.
