Make sure you have enough light when you are removing the climate control unit. The instructions state "philips head screws", but that is incorrect. I was trying to do the project in my dim-lit garage with the top up, and thought that my screws were stripped out too. I was originally trying to use a philips head screw driver per the instructions, but when the screwdriver was just spinning in the screw-head, I eventually went to get a flashlight. To my surprise, the screws were torx heads. Make sure you are using the correct screw driver.

Other than that, the install went great! The dealership quoted me $550 to put in a new climate control unit. I'd say my $60 was very well spent!

I do have one question for those of you that have done this install. Does ModuleMaster only make these displays in the semi-gloss finish? I was hoping it would be closer to the mat finish to match the radio display, but I figure I can't be too picky for $60.
