Ha, ha, that GT3 still has the engine hung out there on it's ass, doesn't it?
That doesn't matter as much as it looks, the guy driving the GT3 needs to go to a school somewhere, he wasn't close to being on line!
The Boxster driver is lucky he didn't crash watching to see if the GT3 hit the barrier.

I don't know what the motec engine management is but his car sounds great! That's an "instructor" in the GT3? Please don't let him be my next instructor!

Motec is just a management system to replace the OEM ECU. It is a programmable/mapable ignition/injection controller.

Motec is a complete, self contained engine management system. It uses the engine's existing sensors, or sometimes additional ones, to determine fuel and spark timing. There are several systems on the market that do this, I've had a Haltech (another manufacturer) running my rotary engine for a few years that I tuned. It's a big job and it takes a long time to get it right.
These systems allow complete control over the mixture and spark timing of the engine, you don't have to go through the stock ECU at all. The stock ECU is typically completely removed from the car, or at least severely crippled so that it doesn't actually control the engine itself.
It doesn't use a MAF to sense load, so no more fouling, but every time you make a change to the engine, including intake and exhaust, you have to re-tune because it's MAP based.

We used a Haltech when we put a Honda engine in a Formula Atlantic Swift DB4(first one done). I thought CAD designing and CNC machining all the adapters and mounts was a big job until it came to just helping my engine builder with the map, since no-one had done a 1.6 Honda engine with the Fuel Injection system we had picked.
