mine has a modified silencer. the previous owner opened up the silencer and took all the stuff out. the sound is amazing, a bit on a loud side. porsche center says it is ok to have an empty silencer, no impact on the engine.
Silencer? What piece/part are you talking about? I have a 987S and wondered if there was something like a resonator in the exhaust system - is that what you mean? I've cut them out on other cars and the sounds always improved; however, I have never been able to find out if the 987 has one.
