New Porsche Excellence magazine cover goof?

Okay, so I get my new issue of Porsche Excellence magazine in the mail today and on the cover there is a big bold statement saying "781-HP 987" and the picture clearly shows a Cayman with some nice body mods (side skirt, spoiler and different front end) and then I think well maybe its a 987 with the Zeintop installed and it just looks like a Cayman. So I open it up and read the article and its all about a beefed up Cayman S type. So my question is, why plaster on the cover 987? I know these 2 cars are very similar underneath and engine wise almost same, but to mistakenly call one by the other's name I think is a big goof on the Magazines part. Anyone else notice this? Is it no big deal to call a Cayman a 987 now days? I know some Cayman owners who hate that we Boxster owners even refer to them as 987s underneath.

Caymans and the new boxsters are both the 987 platform, and both referred to as 987's.

Yup,

All boxsters and caymans are designated as 987 starting in the MY 2005. 986 refers to boxsters before MY 2005.

987s

Hello, correct, the Cayman's model code is officially 987C... not just 987 but various versions of this nomenclature will be used in future I bet..
