Do you guys want the long or short version??

At one time I did have my headlights painted. It lasted about a month. We have lots of bigs in South Louisiana and after a few weeks of interstate driving and bugs hitting the paint, the headlights started to peel.

I also painted my taillights at the same time and they lasted perfectly until I decided to get smart and put a high wattage bulb in and melted the taillight lens.

Now, to the present I have a dark tint I bought from stickercity.com. I installed the full film. It covers the entire headlight, I let it cure and then took a hobby knife and cut out the center opening.

My head lights are the original style amber lights, the amber can not be seen on my lights unless the blinker is on.

I am very happy with this mod, except after a year and a half I have noticed a little shrinking in the film. I am the only one to ever notice it and I only see it when the sun is just right. I think the tint film is $50 or something. If I have to redo it I will leave a little extra to allow for shrinkage.

But, at this pace I may have my litronics on before I redo the current lights. Dont worry, the lits will have the same tint job on them.

Growing up the car magazines said how amazing Porsches are. Was I brainwashed? Somehow...I doubt it.
