some photo experimentations....120mph in a driveway hehe

check it out.
i was experimenting today with my new rig that i fabbed up, well its not all done, but once it is a real photoshoot will be set
only thing that is done to the pics is playing with some lighting, thats all, the blur and all that is all out of the camera.

flying into the garage haha

and last one in a park by the house quickly, got dark

and one quick pic showing the rig, not photoshopped out (too lazy so far, if anyone is up for it, feel free, id really appreciate it )

in the pics the car or the wheels are not clean,
it rained yesterday all day.
but few days ago i detailed the car, and waxed the wheels as well, so the car and wheels repell everything heheh.

i love zaino and wheelWax

I agree, I was undecided at first but it has completely grown on me. Love the wheels too.

DJ thats an awesome rig you got there, have you tried powersliding and to the left or right and snapping a shot with that rig in that same position?

Those pictures look great. How about taking a picture of the entire rig for us?

Thanks

DJ, is this rig something you made yourself or is it something you can buy from a photography supplier? Very cool stuff. It would be cool to have a video camera on there too.

Those look cool. What exactly does the equipment do? I've never seen that before.

2000SoCalBoxsterS,
i made this, i believe the site that u can get a professional one is automotiverigs.com or something like that, they go from $800 and up....

PWebRPH, CT986S,
thx a lot, in person this color is better than what this camera can take.

Gary,
all that i got is 2 ssuction cups from harborfreights, and 2 poles that connect to eachother, and at the end of them you mount the camera. i need to extend the poles some more so that i can capture the whole car, at this point i can get about 90% of it hehehe.

there is no need to be flying down in the car to get the effect, these were taken with me setting the camera on a 10 second timer, and then just pushing the car slowly while the pic is being taken (with correct exposure and all). some people also like to just push it donw the hill lightly

Nice work, DJ. (We have come to expect nothing less from you!) That night shot is GORGEOUS.

What kind of wax do you use on your wheels?

Thanks, DJ. I'll try some of the Wheel Wax.

You're right, I do like that second night shot even better than the first.

Like Gary, I'd like to see pics of the rig itself, especially of where the poles attach to the suction cup apparatus and where it attaches to the camera. How long are the poles? It seems like they're long enough to create a lot of leverage---to where, with the movement of the car and the weight of the camera, you'd get some adverse movement of the camera (ie movement relative to the vehicle, destroying your focus on the car). Obviously the set-up is more solid than it appears.

And speaking of which, where did they (the poles) come from? Are they made for mounting a camera on, or did you have to adapt somehow? Do they telescope to change length?

Agreed.

I could also see some doofus doing what DJ mentioned: pushin' the car down a slight hill that turned out to be steeper than he'd counted on. Couldn't you just see some guy chasin' a driverless Boxster down the street?? (Insert Three Stooges theme song music here...)

the shots that i took are in my driveway, and the car itself was only moved like no more than 5 feet total. so nothing dangerous at all....pretty much just a show to get the wheels to spin a little, thats all it takes to create the movement.

Gotcha. Hey DJ, don't get me wrong: I wasn't implying you'd be the guy chasin' the driverless Boxster down the street!

Again, nice work.

I'm interested in the rig too. My friend and his cousin have 03' M3's and want to get some good shots driving around. The cousin is some up and coming movie major. He's been after me to remove my hood so he can sit in there while driving around... some R2D2 thing. I said no way I don't need to get pulled by the cops for that one.
