Chief, the plan is to do gloss black on the car. I just put the stripe on over the weekend last week and once the tires need replacing (later this year) I will then go to the powdercoating. Should make a huge difference but for now the look will be sweet.

The lobster claws will look great...

they are one of my favorite factory wheels and I think they do look good in black as well...I have been thinking about selling my 18" SCII's and getting some of the GT2 RS/GT3RS clone wheels (without the center locking hub of course)...there is a rendering of a "proposed" 981R that someone created that is silver with the black rocker decals and black GT2RS style rims with a polished lip and it looks amazing. Not sure how well that would translate to the more dated 986 body.

I would say you are a bit brave powersports. Are there a lot of potholes in Romania?

I remember watching the UK Top Gear once and they proclaimed the best road in the world existed in Romania. It will be a dream of mine to take my car there one day.

Rear window is tinted Chief. I just redid the calipers last year and they are so clean I was thinking of leaving them. What would you do? Red, Black or something else?

These were a killer deal Chief. Asking price was $1200 and he had them sitting around for 7 weeks so I offered $800. He countered with $850. Brand new Continentals on the front and 75% Contis on the rear. I then sold my 17's for $400 so total cost to me was $450. Not a bad deal I think since I was needing new rears on my 17's and that was going to be just shy of $400 next week so it all worked out.

That is a killer deal! Sounds like someone got a deal on yours too!
I'm pretty convinced that I want to go with the thin spokes. Its just that I like the Sport Designs I have now too.

He lives in a nice suburb. Me? I live near downtown Houston and my cars would be stripped if I didn't lock them in a garage at night.
Actually, auto crime is bad all over town, even in the nicest Houston neighborhoods. It's our proximity to the border combined with economic conditions.

97, I notice a distinct drop in my off-the-line performance with my 18s on the car vs my 17 inch turbo twists. I bet 19s are even heavier. Did you compare the weight of your old rims and tires with the new?
Our modest 2.5 liter engines need all the unsprung weight savings they can get!

RN, I can not tell much. The Seat Of The Pants test feels good but its probably because I know what it looks like. LOL

I hope nothing happens to the wheels (I dont have locks). Fortunately for me my office has a gated security perimeter and my neighborhood is gated as well and I park in the garage. With all that said it would be really sad to see this car on blocks.

Thanks for the complements. I love the look and the ride. I had them rebalanced today (the first shop made a mess of the weights) and I was cruzin at about 85-90 with no shake and it was smooth.

The handling feels great and I honestly dont notice the ride being rougher like I would have thought.

Thanks again all.

Hmm .. what tire profiles are you guys running ? My front definitely rubs when doing lock to lock turns.
They definitely look nice, but if you're planning to do AX or trackdays with the car .. I would say go 18 max.
