sirrus buyout of xm

The Sirrus buyout of XM was approved today.

What do you think this means to the subscribers?

I for one am getting tired of the same PSA's over and over on the talk channels.

Growing up the car magazines said how amazing Porsches are. Was I brainwashed? Somehow...I doubt it.

My dad is now driving my old car that has Sirius in it. I'm sure he'd be super excited if they add another Sinatra station. So far that's the only one he listens to.

What I want to know is what effect this will have on the lower priced Sirius (SIRI) shares when it merges with the higher priced XM shares. There's a big difference between the two in terms of market cap. I'm wondering if a $3K invest could become a $6K investment in the next 12 months.

anyhoo, this is GREAT news for Stern. He will basically own the morning and evening drive time slots in America on Satellite radio. Too bad the show is really not so good anymore seems like ever since he left FM radio the media houses make fewer and fewr A-list celebreties available to him. I guess you could see that coming, Sirius and XM are taking a big chunk out of FM radio.
Lately I have been listening to Bubba the Love Spong, CNBC and the NASCAR channel wich have great unintentional comedy on its call in shows. Some of these guys are right out deliverance.

I'm hoping for Howard Stern with my baseball! I haven't turned it on since the end of last season.

Does this mean the AGR Acura sponsor will now be Sirius instead of ((XM))! In all seriousness (pun intended), there really wasn't room at this point for two satellite radio companies; the market share just isn't there.
