It's a proximity sensor, if it senses the car in front of you is too close, it tells your car's engine to slow down and automatically applies the brakes too.

A very expensive option for the 986.

I'm just kidding, it's the outside temperature sensor. Probably got knocked loose from its bracket behind the grill.
