I had the blue X50 and my 9500i is red. So far I haven't done any top down driving with the red, but blue was easy to see top up or down, day or night. And so far, red is perfectly clear day and night. To me, the red looks sharper -like higher contrast (but that might totally be in my head).

Either way, the price difference doesn't justify the alleged better sunshine performance in my opinion. To me blue is just "cooler" (but not $50 cooler).
