Need Gift Ideas

Alright guys, I need some gift ideas for my godson. His 3rd birthday is March 2nd and I want to get him something Porsche related ( clothes, toys, etc ). To give you some background, his father was my fraternity little brother in college, and the two things he despises are Porsche’s and Harley’s ( he’s into muscle cars and crotch rockets ). Last year I bought his son a bunch of Harley clothes from the local dealer ( he and his wife loved it ) but since I am selling the Harley I wanted to get his son something Porsche related this year. Budget is $100 - $200. Any ideas ?

Thanks,

Nick

I don't know Nick....IMHO, since the kid is really young and probably wouldn't appreciate any of the gifts you thoughtfully give him... I would just buy him a cool toy for <$50 and then stick the rest in a savings or trust for when he can really appreciate (hopefully) the cash.

Let's see... (depending on how creative you are with money, it can even be more)

If you put away $150 X 18 yrs. (ie., for a trust)= $2700 + @ approx. 4% interest = approx. $2808.... hmmm, looks like a down payment for his own car or bike.

Costco was selling these metal car models which are about 10 inches long. Doors and trunks open. My two year loves his. He has a Cayman, a Boxster, a Cayenne, a CGT, and a turbo 997 conv. He actually sleeps with the Cayman. Great gift for a little boy.

Dude.... 2 words.... smashed into one word.... POWERWHEELS, you have to get him a POWERWHEELS, i seen some cool ones at toys r us awhile back, like aVW beetle which actually had a roof, then the standard corvettes and Bigfoot and Dune Buggy.

You could put some money in a fund for him. Then say the money in the fund is to buy his first Porsche. I also like the Hot Wheels idea.

The only problem i see with a trust fund gift idea is the reaction the 3 year old child will have when hes told what he gotten from his godfather... I imagine the reaction to be like an explosive napalm thunderstorm of tears. Since hes 3 years old, he might already be knee deep in interest of some type of childrens TV program so why not get him something related to that TV show.

For instance, I was way into Gumby and Rock Lords, So my godfather (nino) bought me all the action figures he could find at Toys R us, which probably cost him less than 60 bucks but damn if i wasnt the happiest kid in the world right there and sure beat the hell out of the HeMan butt huggers underwears my Grandma got me.

Buy him a nice, new 997TT and tell his parents you'll drive it until he's old enough to understand the power under his right foot and then you'll give it to him.

That's so subjective that he'll be 40 by the time he respects the car enough to get it, and you'll be so friggin' old it won't matter any more because you'll be looking for chrome wheelchair rims to mod your retirement community ride.

Yup, a new Turbo is the PERFECT gift for any three year old!

Nick, buy him a very nice bottle of vintage port from his birth year. Then, in about 20 years, the three of you can enjoy it with a nice cigar.

Yo Nick,

I remember seeing this picture awhile back of a kid who had a Porsche Powerwheels that he crashed into a pole. It was pretty darn funny, the kid is grabbing his head like he crashed a real Porsche.

Maybe you can find that and blow it up if it's high enough quality.
