I just noticed yours is a 2000 which is an entirely different system.

The 987 ones are a whole nuther animal.

I'm kidding the PSE is an awesome system.
At one time I took an OEM muffler and hacked into it a bypass. in a sense it was a PSE that was stuck open. There is a video here:

Don't laugh at the tips they did not come out right and that was the main reason I changed mufflers to my current setup.

Sport Exhaust

The Sport Exhaust on my 2008 S LE is a blast. Kicks in as soon as you punch the "Sport" button, and is discernable at all speeds -- including idle.

I sometimes wish the PSE was on a separate circuit than the sport suspension. I'd probably hit the Sport button more often -- or just leave it on all the time -- if it didn't firm the suspension too.

Knurly, you can just disconnect the vacuum lines to the PSE, and you will have it in "sport" (loud) mode at all times.

Do what the rest of us with PASM and the Sport button do--hit the sport button, then hit the PASM button to put PASM back in normal mode.

Annoying, but it'll do what you want.

dealer updated the price: approx. $2,900 including chrome tips($630) plus labor $990.

independent shop(much better response): approx. $2,800 parts including chrome tips and $300 labor.

Vice disconnecting the vacuum lines I read somewhere (too many forums!) that I could disconnect some plug on the engine - anyone have a pic of what it looks like and where it is (987 S engine)?

after thinking on this for a few days I'm starting to shy away from doing it. I can get a whole new 6spd tranny for my harley for that kind of money(say $3,000).

When I think of it in those terms it seems ridiculous for an exhaust which doesn't really deliver appreciable power gains. Geez, I must be getting old.... LOL
