3 Down with 2 To Go!
Well. it was -2 this morning in the Chicago area. It will be about -15 where I am headed today for a business meeting.
But, all I can think about is 3 down and 2 more to go. Months that is. Of winter storage. I fully expect to be driving the car in late March. Worst case, I can wax it. Like it really needs another coat of Zaino or RejeX!
It's a disease.
I'll be in Maui for a few days in late February, so that will be a great diversion for me as I wait to turn the key!

I take it you are coming to my neck of the woods. Yes, it was -15 this morning with a -40 windchill. I took the dog out this morning and couldn't even breath
I would agree about being excited to get the car out of storage. I will probably wait until April so some of the salt is off the roads. We are usually good for a snow storm in April.

At least you guys have jobs. given the current climate in the US I'm beginning to wonder when suicide has to be added to my list of future options.

I just couldn't wait and took the Boxster to work the other day. It snowed a couple of inches in the afternoon and was quite nervous about driving home. Was pleasantly surprised though as the car handled the snow very well. The weight over the drive wheels and ABS really helped.

I'm with you bmussati, all I can think about is how long I have before I can de-winterize Nicole.
I'm hoping the countdown is closer to 6-7 weeks than a full 2 months. 6-7 weeks sounds a whole lot better than 2 months. I'm praying for a few 40-50 degree weeks the first week or two of March and one good rain to wash the salt off the road.

Maybe you can get one of the ShelbyGT350s from Hertz...? I went to the big island not too long ago and they had them (reserved)... not sure that it would matter though -- where you would be able to go over 55mph?

I guess that I am of the new generation, one who needs instant gratification. I kept waiting and waiting for spring and it is not here yet so I woke the Boxster up and went for a ride yesterday. It is supposed to be 34 and sunny today so I will put on the rear strut brace and then go riding. Tomorrow is going to be a miserable day so I will spend time cleaning her up and get ready for some 40 degree weather over the weekend. So what is a couple of more wash jobs I really did miss her this winter. Ed

I'm also from northern Illinois. We're supposed to see 6 to 10 inches of snow overnight into Friday; a gift after the sub zero temperatures. My P-cars won't see the light of day until April. Family's heading to the big island the end of Feb, as well. My 17 y/o can drive me around while I sip a Mai-Tai in the back seat with the top down.

It got up to almost 60 here on Tuesday, so I drove home with the top down. When I bought the Box at the end of '06 I cleared out enough garage space to keep it inside. This year it just stays in the driveway and gets driven about every week.

I feel your pain, Bill
Mine's been sitting in storage since November 30th !
I'm half tempted to call djomlas and ask him to take me for a ride
I hope I can still remember how to drive stick when the weather breaks...

Mine's at the dealership right now getting its 40,000 mile service, some door ding repair and a detailing. Should get it back today. The weather's been ugly the past two weeks--lots of rain, but nice and sunny now. Can't wait to go for a top-down drive.
Sorry, I'm a jerk.

this thread got me thinking. Im from minneapolis, and yes -15. I often wonder why so many people live in these horrible climates... dispite the best summers ever. I store my car in the winter even though I see this old man in my neighborhood driving his 987 S white. Crazy *%#! - salt/ snow/ ice... crazy! So anyway in this kind of cold when you touch int. parts etc. stuff breaks. Is there any crazy people out there driving their push in these temps and how the porsche crest handles the cold. I know that Baudet, MN houses hondas cold weather test facility.
