Jack stands with emergency jack?

Is it possible to put the car up on jack stands using just the emergency jack? I have searched here and renntech and could only find directions using a racing jack.

I dont think the factory jack can jack high enough to fix a jack stand under the car without a block of wood being placed under the jack before raising the car. Its kinda dangerous but you might be able to get it high enough that way to place a jack stand under the front torq box under on the chasis

I'm with CJ.
I've not used mine but any i've seen are just solid enough to raise the car for a tire change and to go higher would make it unstable.

Hi Shaman,

There won't be much room, but you would be able to just fit 2 ton jack stands underneath the car just by using the emergency jack. However, if you use 3 ton stands ----they are too tall and will not fit using that method.

Also, you don't have to use a racing jack (there's other jacks out there that will do the job just fine), but if you need one here's a link that xusmnimij provided me with a few days ago:

Good luck with that!

Autozone has the same jack for $99. That's where I bought mine. They don't show the photo on their web site, but it's the same jack (even says "Harbor Freight") in the instructions. Even better... it's blue.
