Rear Boot / Trunk Won't Open Anymore

Hi guys,

Bit of a problem with my 2004 986 Boxster. Only had it for two weeks, but already I've had something break.

Unfortunately, the rear boot / trunk won't open anymore. It's not working from the key or the button by the door. I can hear the solenoid opening and closing inside, but the boot never pops up. Kind of frustrating as my laptop is stuck in there! Spoken to a Porsche dealership and they've never had this before, and their labour rate is £110 an hour!

I've tried all sorts of stuff, including pushing it down, lifting it up, but I'm guessing I need to find the manual release cable, where ever that is.

Anyone know where it is, or got any ideas? Anyone had this happen before?

Cheers,

Stu.
