Fontana Village Resort is the place we always stay. Probably will include the tail in the trip to and from the Parade.

We stayed there on the way down to Rennsport III, the restaurant was a lot better than our previous stays.

IMO the best time to do this would be between Oct 20 and Nov 5 when the leaves at their peak and temps are OK for top down driving. And never on a weekend. The tail is best enjoyed early in the morning or early evening on a weekday. We had it to ourselves and drove 9/10s.
