Weired hesitation????

Hi All!

'01 / 2.7 / Tip / 84Kms

Just yesterday, I noticed a sort of hesitation @ 2K revs (through pretty much all gears). It feels as though there is not enough fuel getting through? (Fuel filter/bad fuel?).

Is this a common prob? (I did search on the forum, but couldn't find too much related), and if there are any quick fixes/suggestions before I hand it over to the wealthiest car manufacturers on the planet!

Thanks In Advance

I used to have the same problem with hesitation from the 2k rpm and lower range in all the gears, I replaced the filter and the fuel pump, that didnt fix it, The acceleration did improve with the Fuel Pump replacement cause mine had about 89k miles on it.

I eventually went away on its own and since then I had gotten a CEL for a MAF, replaced it and i guess i decided to atribute hesitation to a MAF that was on its way out but wasnt junk enough to cause a CEL at the first signs of hesitation.

I do know that Low RPM Hesitation in my old 1965 Porsche 912 was caused my a leaky exhaust system... It also had a boxer 4 cyclindar engine. Once i replaced the exhaust gaskets and tightened up the clamps, the hesitation went away. Might want to check for exhuast leaks.

Thanks CJ,

The MAF was replaced not 4 months ago (warranty), and I had the major service (80 Kms - plugs and fuel filter) done at the same time.

I'll check the exhaust, but I havn't heard any leaks as such?

Appreciate the reply!

Garage
Did you buy gas somewhere different last time you filled up?

I'd run that tank almost dry and go get some BP Ultimate, mate.

If that doesn't do it, check your air cleaner and clean the MAF.
