Here are a few that seem useful. It looks like some folks use wire taps and others just push a wire into the connectors.

A jumper wire is a term used meaning to connect two different wires together. In this case all the jumper wire does is tell the amp to turn on (remote turn on) so this wire can be soldered or use the wire tap as is does not run a high current. What ever method you use just make sure it is secured and it does not come off or loose also no bare wire is exposed because that will be a live/hot wire.

Don't forget the Radio Alarm fix..........

I just did the Traffic Pro thing last month, real easy instal.

The one thing not listed is to place a piece of electrical tape on drivers side of the TP unit. When you pull your current head unit you will notice a piece of plastic/teflon that insulated the alarm contact for the radio. Just place a piece of tape in that general area on the TP and you should be good. If you don't, every time you enable the alarm it will chirp twice like a door is unsecure.

I could not place the GPS antenna under the alarm LED piecs, so I placed it next to it. It is black and blends in, looks like a satellite radio antenna you see on the trunk of some cars.

The only drawback I'm finding is nonexistent updated map data and every time you want to "navigate" you have to remove your music CD and insert the nav CD, enter your destination, then reinsert your music CD. I don not think this would not be an issue if you have the CD changer.

I guess it is true, Every choice has consequenses!

Thanks for the additional information. If my unit arrives this week, I plan to tackle the installation on Saturday. I have an iPod connector that I used with my CDR-220. The directions seem to indicate it will work with the Traffic Pro.

Here are the tips I've managed to glean from all the boards:

1. Be sure to jumper the amp-turn on wire
2. Insulate the side of the unit to avoid a chirping alarm
3. The nav antenna may or may not fit under the alarm LED, and it may be tough to fish it through the dash.
4. Hooking up the reverse sensor wire is not absolutely necessary.

Anyone else have suggestions?
