I say go for it, because I'm sure the car will feel and sound improved after the mods. However, after looking at the IA stage 1 package, it is obvious that they are just repackaging a Dansk sausage muffler with an EVO intake.

If you're interested in saving a few bucks, you can simply buy the Dansk exhaust at various places for $700-$800 (I got my Dansk pressed sport with super sound tips new for $750), and the EVO retails for $380, so total, you can get them together for around $1100-1200, instead of the $1400 that IA charges.

He's right about those prices. I've seen all those parts you have listed for allot less. Keep searching. I think you are overpaying for all those parts. But I like where you are going with the mods.

You just can't add hp gains from each individual mod. Doesn't work that way. So not only do have some likely inflated figures, but you've got some optimistic math. I'd be surprised if you got more than 20hp at the wheels with all those mods.

I am sorry, but 53HP for $3100 is not right. Your looking at 3-4HP maybe with the chip, 5-8HP if you're lucky with the headers, and maybe about 5-10HP with the exhaust/intake. It all depends, I am not an expert put I would say if you could get 10-15 more HP for that much your lucky.

Randall has proven with dyno charts of the gains he experienced with his 2.5L which were no joke. +15hp at the wheels from just exhaust and headers. Turbowerx claims to have found a better design for power, maybe they have.

KW v3 coilovers for sure
Che's suspension parts (toe links, control arms)
maybe a set of speedline wheels
GT3 front bumper (maybe 996 or 997)

Wish list:
head work (better flow)
Cams
or just pick up a 3.4 and do all the same.

Come on Nick-

Bite the bullet and get an '03-'04 S or step up to a 987.

You're not going to get the HP out of the '99 2.5 986.

Those numbers are very "aggressive".

Not really, Blinkwatt is saying +15HP, confirmed with a dyno for both the headers and exhaust, which sits just around my estimates of 10-18HP for both of those. And even if my numbers are conservative, I think they are more realistic than 35HP.
The chip is the one I would be interested to see because I have heard of people only getting a few more HP with them in the Boxster.
