I don't seem to be able to stop wasting money on this car. In addition to the Cayman S wheels, Reus Audio, leather sport steering wheel, short shifter and nav system, I recently have done the following:

Red seat belts:

I probably should have saved some money and just stolen a set from Costco:

Leather center console pieces and gauge cluster:

The pieces came out of a Cayman S, as you can see:

Those leather pieces would be quite a bit more than $1000 from Porsche. I swiped 'em from LA Porsche Dismantler for about $600.

Silver lower mirror arms:

The mirror arms were originally yellow pieces that I had painted for $60 to look like the factory option. Probably not worth it since it's such a subtle addition on Seal Grey, but eh, I was bored.

Somebody stop me...

Nice!

Aren't those seat belts like $800 bucks?

Oh GOD no. I got 'em from Suncoast Porsche for like $300 or something, I think. It was during their christmas sale.

Very easy to install, by the way. Only thing is that Porsche tells you in the service manuals to not reuse the bolts. I figured there was no way they were stretch-to-torque, so i reused 'em, with a little blue anti-sieze. Hope I don't die.

Man, I really like the 987/997 interior... it's a very tasteful upgrade. Wish I could afford that Cayman S I test drove a while back. I did it just for fun.

Porshe tells you to replace practically everything. Lots of profit in a $10 bolt that casts $0.10. You're absolutely correct.
