driver window will not auto roll down when door opens

I need some help guys.
I have a 1999 2.5L boxster.
My driver side door window will not auto roll down when you pull on either inside/outside door handles. You know how the window automatically rolls down an inch when you pull the door handle.
Passenger side window works fine. Also manually rolling up and down the driver side window works but it will just not automatically roll down one inch. I have tried this when the car is both on and off. I can hear the window motor make a sound like it is rolling it down but it doesn't. Once again, the auto roll when the door opens does not work but both the auto roll up and down via the button works.
Any advice guys????
