If you have no already done so open the control unit and dry it out. If you are lucky you might be able to salvage it. Good thing is it is fresh water.

This happened to a guy on a UK message board and I warned him he needed to do this quickly. But his car sat for days because he did not have the socket to remove the seat bolts, and it was raining and he did not have a garage.

He finally did get it out and there was crud inside the control unit. He dried it out and everything worked except the switches on the door sill for the trunks (he had a 2001).

Also check the fuse on the unit.
