OEM looking blank plate

Hello,

I am in the process of adding a few more gauges to my Boxster. Does anyone know when I can find the a piece of plastic (or other material) I can cut to the size to fit over one of the storage areas??

Preferably as oem as possible.

If you guys can just direct me toward a few web sites it would be a great help.

Thanks

I think I am changing my mind, instead of OEM I am going to go with carbon fiber to match my console.

I found this one. If you come across any other carbon fiber or OEM looking plates let me know.

Just to complete this conversation with myself I found a panel that would work.

Now I need to decide carbon fiber or OEM??

Any opinions??

I plan on mounting the gauges in the second bin from the bottom. in the center.
Right below the radio.

Gary,

A car audio shop is a good place to find the raw materials you need for making a blank plate. I got a big piece of textured plastic from a car audio shop years ago and I've used it on several projects.

As for the carbon fiber look. If you want to save some bucks maybe you should consider making the blank plate out of plastic and then coat it with "Performance Carbon". This is basically sheet material of real carbon fiber that you just stick over the plastic. It should work great on a flat, interior project like this and it's relatively affordable stuff. The MachV stuff looks pretty good too. The Autometer plate is made for fitting under the dash and may not fill your hole properly.

Performance Carbon:

Depending on the gauges you want to use, you could look for the plate the manual AC controls mount in. There are three round openings you could mount gauges in. But you'll have to find one first.
