I've got a '99 2.5L, 201HP, at 2755 lb. 0-60 in just under 6 seconds, which is plenty of power for me. The Boxster isn't really about straight line acceleration if that is what you're looking for, but it can outrun most cars on a twisty road. And it will throw your head into your seat if you don't tame the beast (even in a 2.5L).
