You're not too far off with this statement. Dell's stock is in the crapper!

Grizzly, your post is awesome, thanks for the good laugh.
Back to reality, until one of these so called "real car guys" has the balls to say I'm a poser to my face for driving a Boxster, there is nothing for me to sweat.

oh well, people have the right to have their stupid opinions. i find it funny how guys bash each other on what they drive...i don't care what people think of me when they see me in the Boxster because i drive it for myself because I enjoy driving it! On the other hand, I kinda have to agree with Kirk, there's some people who would buy a Boxster just because it's a Porsche so they can tell people they drive a "Porsche". I know a few people like this but i don't really care about them because they're just as ignorant as the person on the Nissan forums.
I've been around Porsches all my life as my dad collects them and I get just as excited driving my "bottom of the line" Porsche as i do driving my dad's "top of the line" Porsche.
point being; people are idiots and we shouldn't pay attention to them

that was hilarious grizz...altho I wanted to chime in and defend my wife's Murano, until I realized that I can't....cause I hate it's guts...and if I could take the step and justify buying another poor man's porsche Cayenne (non S) I would in a second! best handling SUV out there.....
but so is life that one porsche payment is quite enough for me as far as the infinit G35 goes, that was the original car I was going to purchase, I must thank Infiniti for the producing the most boring, lame, uninspiring test drive ever that rove me to the boxster
the 350....ummm....they looked better in the 90's....and the new one, well they copied the TT but the TT still looks much better...

Why is it all 350Z owners I've met are hard headed?
My friend got one,02' w/ the button pushing tranny not the real manual. I saw him at the gym one day, wanted to race swear his 350z was faster than my Box. I couldn't resist laughing as he pulled up to me putting his car in P(ark) and he started revving his engine.

In the 2.5 yrs I've had my Box, I've had tons of compliments from the people I run into. The only negative comment I got was back in Sep. I decided to drive the Box to the Neb - Wake Forest game in NC. On the way out I stopped in Chicago for a Cubs game. Scored a great parking spot just outside Wrigley "Stadium" (as Jeff Gordon calls it) on Waveland Ave. Had some time to kill before the game, so I was just hanging out by the car. A group of late teens walk by (3 guys, 2 girls) and the pack leader says "You oughta drive a real Porsh". I didn't bother engaging him but I thought to myself "Yeah, like the one YOU drive". I bet if I offered to trade keys with him he would've been excited.
As far as the 350Z crowd is concerned, they've bought the top of the line car in Nissan's offerings so they probably feel pretty good about themselves while us poor Boxster owners are just "entry level". Not sure what the G35 people are thinking. My sister bought a 350Z last Jan and I'll have a chance to drive it in a couple of weeks. I'm sure it's a nice car. She drove mine last year and was impressed but wasn't too excited about some of the reliability issues.
In the grand scheme of things, I don't need someone else's approval for what I choose to drive. I wave at the 911 guys that I meet and don't care if they don't wave back. If someone doesn't like my car, that's their problem not mine. I still have permagrin.

bought a Nissan Altima SE-R (very quick and fun) as a daily driver a couple of years ago. I'm constantly driving by the zillions of other Altima's on the road yelling "get a real Altima" sarcasm
As for 350Z owners, I have a good friend who drives his 350Z like a total idiot, going to kill himself in it. Comments like those posted are coming from morons (u know who u r) who have no regard for the rest of us out there on the roads, it makes no absolutely no difference what they're driving. Funny, because my model aviation club has similar issues, unless you're flying a scratch built WWII plane or something 50% to scale, you're a poser. They can stay on the left side of the field and life as far as I'm concerned, which isn't much.
PS Griz, loved the pics and captions

When i was in the market for a new car for my wife we test drove all kinds of cars, from BMW to Honda s2000. I have to admit that the Z wasn't bad except that if you and your wife or GF wanted to go to the market you couldn't get any more than would fit on your lap. She ended up getting a Volvo C-70 Rag Top. Real nice car. When I started to look for a replacement for my 64 MGB I went and drove a Boxster. I have had sports cars all my life and I can honestly say that there are few experiences like driving a Boxster through the twisties. The Z may be quicker on the straights but as someone once said, " Lets race without using brakes". For someone who wants to drive around town with the top down and have people look at them , maybe the Z is the right car , but for people who want to drive their car the Boxster is the better choice. Different strokes. Ed
