Mike,

I did four; only because the can was nearly empty, so I just finished it up. Now I have a nearly full bottle of cleaner, but no protectant.

"Hey Frodo! I got a new picture of our new Peke, taken yesterday. Doesn't she look good? All of her hair is coming in nicely. She was spayed this morning and should be ready to travel on the 13th."

Posted by Grizzly.

Kudos, my man. She’s lookin’ good. It’s amazing what good food on a regular basis and some TLC will do for an abused/stray animal. Her expression seems to display a little of that Peke attitude, like “Get me into that new house---I’ll be running the place in a week!” They’re great dogs. (I’m stifling my normal tendency to snap “Get a REAL dog” anytime I see someone with anything shorter than knee-high.)

Since it was you hijacking your own thread, guess I might as well post a pic of my beast, who (I’m pretty damn sure) is the best dog that ever lived. Meet Jake (and yours truly):

(No badgering commentary necessary---I already know HE’s more photogenic than I.)

I use a shoe box, using it as a shield. Sometimes I will use only the shoebox lid as a backsplash of sorts.

If I stacked all three of my dogs up, they still wouldn't be knee-high. But, I could ask my brother for pictures of his Neapolitan and Bull Mastiffs if you'd like. Now there's a house that will never be burglarized.

Your dog is great looking. Springer, right? I love the look on his face, "C'mon, take the picture already".

I hate to argue with such a great guy, especially about his best friend, but I believe this is the best dog that ever lived. This is Grizzly; the real Grizzly. She just lets me type the posts because she can't reach the keys.

(Sorry, had to take a MNF break, in addition to the protracted efforts at peeling the kids away from the computer...)

OMG, the real Grizzly is actually a SHE?? Oh my, that’s disconcerting…That IS a luvable mug I have to admit. I've seen the type: she sticks that little tongue out and, instantly, she’s got you all right where she wants you.

Yep, Jake’s a Springer. I DO like Mastiffs, by the way. One of the few breeds that I, as a veterinarian, have had almost no problem with. Almost invariably they are friendly to a fault, IN YOUR FACE kind of friendly. I say “almost invariably” because there was one exception, and this guy, all 165 lbs of him, would eat your face for breakfast as soon as look at you. (He was about 1 ½ years old, un-neutered and DOMINANT AS HELL---his people were literally afraid of him. We tried to sedate him at one point, and I quickly realized nothing short of a dart-gun-anesthesia approach was gonna work on him. I copped out---referred them all to a behavior specialist. Hey, professionally speaking, we ALL have to bail out once in a while…)

In the “Best of Dog” competition, let’s call this one a draw.
