I just gotta say!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a great car!
All Summer I have been running around town listening to ZZ Top loud enough to hear it with the top down. Yesterday the weather was questionable so I put the top up for the ride home and got a call from the office. Turned off the radio, took the call, ended the call, and could not believe the wonderful sound eminating behind me that I had forgotten about.
What a great sounding engine and exhaust the boxster has! I have had more fun while driving in the past 24 hours running the range of RPM's just to hear the pipes ring.
What a great car!
I gotta go for another ride!

I know what you mean.
My stereo is always second to the engine's symphony.

My sentiments exactly. And, by the way, I also happen to drive a '01 seal grey 986...

I use my radio to check traffic and weather only. I have never even tested the CD changer. Recorded music just seems to get in the way of the live performance.

Same here. The CD player in my Z4 was busy all the time. Since I got the seal grey 986er a month ago the engine does the music. I always loved the sound of this car!

good to see I am not alone, I haven't touched the CD changer and couldn't tell you how to program radio stations yet........ exhaust note bouncing off canyon walls is quite addictive

I never thought much of the Boxster until I test drove one... It was the SOUND of it that sold me. I'm dead serious. After revving past 4000 on the tach, I said to myself "The Boxster is my next car." It put to rest the debate of 3 Series/S2000/IS300, or any rear drive sporty car I was in the market for. I love a good ol' fashioned emotional purchase.
And if there are any lurkers reading this post thinking we've gone insane, GO DRIVE ONE.
And if there are any lurkers reading this post that have driven one and still think we're insane... try the Chrysler forums... I hear the new Sebring is gonna be super -and you deserve it.

Same here. My sound system is great but I prefer to listen to the engine. It must be the mid-engine placement that make it more enjoyable than a front engine car.
