Missing Pieces

I had my 2000 S at the shop yesterday for a track inspection. (Yes, there are still some events left this year.) While it was up on the rack, I took a look around the front and saw that it seems to have a couple of plastic pieces torn off. Can anyone tell me what they are for and whether or not it’s worth replacing them? Looking at the Katalogue, I think one of the missing pieces is a rubber lip # 996 504 603 00.

Thanks,

Art

Where are you still tracking at? It was sleeting here today and snowing yesterday.

Looks like you air duct is cracked and you're missing the rubber lip in front of the wheels. The parts in question are there to help direct the airflow under the car and also into radiators and brakes for cooling. I'd replace either way, but definitely since you are tracking the car.

p/n applicable are:

left side
air duct 996 504 603 00
rubber lip 996 504 503 00

right side
air duct 996 504 604 00
rubber lip 996 504 503 00

Burg Boxster - Thanks for the info. I'll call my friendly dealer and see how much they want to rob me for these. By the way, I have a house in Pgh, but work in DC.

der Geist - That's what you get for living in the snow belt. The Carolinas Region of the PCA is holding a DE at VIR on Dec. 1
