Not well Boxster!

Hi all,
Struggling to determine what the noise is from the engine in my 99 boxster?
The noise seems to be coming from the gear box area, sounds like a rummble. This does not get faster when the car is reved up and is there all the time.
Could it be the clutch or maybe worse! anty ideas?

Does the noise increase in loudness or rumble fast with Revs, rather than vehicle speed?

If with REVs or RPM's then it might be the throw-out bearing on the pressure plate.
