engine noise

Hi everyone,
Started my 99 boxster today and noticed a rumble/rattle from the engine! I have no problems with gear selection and the car pulls well with no slipping from the clutch. The car has done 60k so i am hoping it is the clutch and not something more serious? Any ideas?

The noise does not go! It does not speed up with the car it just seems to rummble/rattle

Could be a lot of things then. Like a loose washer, heat shield or bad cats.

Dont think its the heat shields as i have already sorted that problem out. What would the washer be loose on? Could it be the clutch or would it not make that sound?
