headlights fuse...weird, litronic light keeps killing it

ok so heres the deal, i tried putting one litronic on today, and as soon as i put it on, turned the light on, light started to come on for a little, and then it just died.
put the halogen light on, nothing, swap the left and right fuse and it works again, then put the litronic back on with a bulb from the other litronic, kills the fuse again.
i ran out of fuse to do more trys, so now none of my headlights work LOL...

this is the passenger side, A10 slot for low beam, showing me 7.5

so for those that have litronics, do i need a bigger amp fuse in that slot?

anyone?

DJ,

I don't know if you should have to swap the fuses out. When I ran Litronics on my car they were fine with the halogen fuses. Do you mind linking the thread you read?

D,

As everyone has stated I'll bet it's the fuse amps. In the kit I recieved it directed the owner to change out the fuses for litronic installation. My car was made in Finland and already had the higher amp fuses as well as all the corresponding holes necessary for the conversion.

In the directions that come with the litronics, it directs you to locate holes for the electrical lines if I remember right. It goes on to say if the holes are not there to drill them out, mine, like yours apparently, already had everything set up for litronics.

From my failing memory, think the early cars came with 7.5 amp fuses for the low beams, then changed to 15 amp. When we did the litronic retrofit on a 2000 and 2002 I seem to remember they already had 15 amp fuses. The instructions do say to check what you have and if they are 7.5 amp to replace them with 15 amp.

Actually, you are exactly right, which can be said about almost every piece of technical data you ever posted. My car is certainly a better tuned vehicle because of your input, thanks.....

I'm trying to figure out why I was able to run Litronics in my car w/o changing the fuses and you guys had to switch them out. Is it because CJ's & DJ's rides were 98' & 99's models?

Is it possible that Porsche changed the fuses when they introduced Litronics as an option and no longer installed the 7.5amp fuses for the headlight anymore?

the Vin on my boxster indicates that my Boxster was made in germany also. Blink i would replace them just as a precaution, i called my porsche dealer and the service tech said that they always replace the 7.5 with a 15 fuse on any retrofit they perform
