Baseball, another forum member here did the break in schedule with a little latitude.

After all, your motor was redlined at least once or twice before it ever left Germany.

Winding it up once or twice between now and 2000 miles won't hurt your motor a bit. Taking it to redline every shift during the first 2000 miles is probably taking the idea way too far though.

Rest in the fact that you don't have a second hand boxster where the first owner ran it through the gears hard and long for the first days of ownership without a care that the engine was suffering. After all, he's not going to keep the car forever, so who cares?

Maybe that will help you enjoy the putting around for the next few months!

I agree with Bill though... You need a road trip something fierce.
