one year ago...
exactly one year ago i purchased my boxster...it will be getting a fresh bath today if it doesn't get too cold hehe.
started my search for a more unique/different/uncommon boxster.
saw this one on ebay listed by a dealership, called them, negotiated, then negotiated some more, and after 4 days it was mine, i didnt get a PPI as it was a small dealership in Indiana, but i did send them a list of items to check and send pictures back, and checked out the car myself when i got there, so far no problems.
i didn't have a radio code at the time, and it was my first long trip in a boxster (3-4 hrs at 1 am), and i remember my back aching because i want used to seat position compared to my other car, and trying to stay awake and sing a song to stay awake, and then i learned that i seriously don't know one freggin song by heart, LOL...good times.
i enjoyed the car a lot, and still do.
haven't had too many problems with it, coolant cap and maf swap.
car came with a tequipment knob and e-handle, and 17 in wheels, along with a hardtop.
so far i put in an intake, short shifter, exhaust cutouts, 18in wheels and tires, and silver interior pieces, and did some work on breaks(pads, brake/clutch flush...thx Patrick, and painted calipers), and got rid of the orange different ways
i put almost exactly 10k miles on it few autocross events, and love it, cant wait till next season withs some more mods hopefully.
so anyways here are some before and after pictures before are at the dealers place

dj,
It's amazing all the stuff you have done to your car in the last year ! I still can't believe you paid what you did for your car. I look forward to autocrossing with you next year ( hence my suggestion to do the cosmetic mods rather than the lowering springs )

My car's birthday was October 4th. I'll remember that easily because it was 1 year and 1 day before I got married.
Happy Birthday Boxsters!

Nice summary of the year. Not knowing before this post anything about the length of your ownership I was shocked to see it is just one year. For some reason it feels like to me that you've owned it a lot longer.
I've now had my 986 for 3 years, +/- a couple of weeks. I believe this is the first time that I've had a car this long without any thoughts of replacing it due to boredom. I don't know how long it will last, but I have more fun in this car each time I take it out.

there was a great demand for them as it turned out, i had wayyy too many people PM me about them without me even advertising that im selling them, so i sold them to a gentlemen on the forum here, in Hawaii.
i knew i would get another set of black wheels, and if i sell these, ill get another set of black ones hehe
so far so good, i love the new wheels.
btw, washed the car today, and tried to dry it with a leaf blower. car has way too many coats of zaino, so it took me no more than 5 minutes to dry it, all the water just slid right off, and another minute per wheel. i am never again hand drying the car
plus, got a free leaf blower, 200mph

I was asking to see if I could buy them. The 17" Sport Classic's are really rare and desirable. Any way Happy B-Day to your Car!
