				Wanted to introduce myself...

I'm not sure what the policy is with regard to introduction threads, but hopefully no one will mind.
Today I picked up my first Porsche, a 2000 Boxster in Guards Red with a black interior and black top. Overall, I am extremely happy with it, and I'm learning a lot about the 986 from reading through these forums.

It's in very nice shape, and has many of the options I wanted: the sport package, heated seats, traction control, 17" Boxster Design wheels, and the coloured wheel crests.

I am certain I'll have many questions as I get to know the car better, and I'm glad to have found this resource. I am a moderator on another automotive forum, and this seems to be a friendly community.

				Welcome

			Welcome to the forum!
I am also a relatively new member. Picked up a 2000 White Color Boxster 2 weeks ago and so far I am extremely pleased with the car. The only not so good thing is that I am beginning to regret not getting a 'S' model.

			bmussatti: You're right...you DO need a pic.
At least I have a excuse, I'm to much of an idiot to figure out how to make my pic small enough to fit in here without blowing up the site.

Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the board!

RUN. 986 IS THE WORST THING TO HAPPEN TO ME THIS YEAR. YOU ARE STILL RELATIVELY FREE AND ONLY YOU CAN SAVE YOURSELF.
This sight has cost me half the cost of my car so far in modifications. These guys make me lose sleep at night thinking of things that I have done to and want to do to my car. I have, unfortunately, learned of wheels that I NEED to have, tires that I NEED to have. I lose focus at work meetings as I think of the sound of my exhaust revving through the RPMs. It's an addiction!

Seriously now, welcome to the forum. You will find the members very helpful when you have a problem. It has been an invaluable resource for me so far, and I hope you find it useful to you to. Now, post some pics.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone.
AUDIOGUY, I'm in Bergen County, which is in northern NJ.

Sammy, that might actually be doable. Any idea of the distance from NJ? I'm also hoping to participate in a few local gatherings of members here.

And don't worry, pictures will be forthcoming. I just need to charge my camera and get her cleaned up. Today was rainy, but I wasn't going to let that stop me from taking a nice, long first drive.

I'd say it would be about 800 miles to the Dragon. Well worth the trip. You can make it there in under 8 hours!!
When I did the trip in early May, I did 2,000 miles door-to-door.

Boxstershorts, I don't know how to post/make an avatar either. I need to send DJ a pic from the Dragon, and have him do his magic. |
