My motivation...

Well I don't know about you guys, but I NEVER EVER plan on selling my car! I just love everything about it. I don't even want to upgrade to an S. I just want to keep it and make it a project car someday... you know, up the horsepower, exterior, etc.... for fun. I don't mind dumping money into it. It's a pleasure. Kinda like the time I taped a playing card on my BMX when I was ten years old to make it sound like a motorcycle... remember that feeling of pride and accomplishment? Same thing...

I, too, am looking at a 3.6 into my S sooner or later, though for me, it does somewhat come down to a few choices. 1) pickup a low mileage 3.6 and spend the weekend stuffing it in with the associated upgrades. 2) Pull the block out, inspect things, install low compression pistons, stronger rods, etc and use the TurboWerx kit running higher boost. 3) Sell my 986S and pick up a 3.4 powered 987S.

Depending on the way the market moves as time ticks on, these options may all change in terms of attractiveness, and new options may appear.
