tires fit and feel fine. they are Kumho Exsta ASX all seasons....i guess i jsut got myself a winter setup hahahahahaha too freaggin funny

Badazz ride DJ! You do have an eye for the camera my friend.

djomlas 09-21-2007 08:22 PM

thx man, i call it obsession hehe
i was always a sucker for photography and cars, so here it is hehe

super66 09-21-2007 09:28 PM

wow...huge improvement.....those things look vicious

Grizzly 09-21-2007 09:32 PM

Nice, D.J. They really change the personality of the car. Great photos, as always.

trube78 09-21-2007 10:15 PM

Kumho Exsta ASX are Good tires for the $$$$ but

They are not great (or even good) "winter tires." Better than summer tires, but not much. I have had two sets on different vehicles including a current set of 17s on a Boxster. Decent tread wear, a bit noisey after 10-15K mi, solid but not ouststanding grip, good in wet. In Blacksburg, they come off the car in November and 16" snows go on until late March. If Chicago is as bad as I remember, don't think of these as winter tires.
ATB,
Tom

djomlas 09-21-2007 10:17 PM

i agree with that, but they are better than summer only tires i had and survived winter on

btw, this is my 4th winter on summer only tires, so this will be a first, and hopefully much better.

btw, i highly doubt that with my driving style they will even last close to 10k haha, so im not worried about how loud they get

waynes986 09-21-2007 11:23 PM

nice pixs....hey what did you do to your front ambers? are those painted? if so does the light still go through?

boxstar 09-22-2007 01:48 AM

i prefer your old wheels, but thats just me ;)

nice choice, I had my eyes on those too. Are they 19's?

ASX are decent tires, mine were good for 30k miles so get use to them because youll have them for a while.

ddb 09-22-2007 03:52 AM

They look terrific! More inspiration to have my spokes done in gloss black in a year or two when I get bored with my wheels.

Did you need an alignment before the new combo was installed? Or are you doing it just for good measure because of the new combo?

I think the bumperettes would look great in body color.

Bambino Don 09-22-2007 03:58 AM

They are beautiful wheels. Completely suit the boxster, I like the chrome lip it really forces an emphasis on to the shapes of the bodywork especially the rear.

well done, take a bow!!

HI, Nice DJ very Nice

fatmike 09-22-2007 04:31 AM

Wow.

Nice wheels.

Nice pictures. Great angles/perspectives.

blkboxster 09-22-2007 05:12 AM

OMFG, DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THATS LOOKS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!

djomlas 09-22-2007 05:19 AM

thx for the responses guys.

waynes986, i painted the front ambers silver, and then put a clar film over them so i dont get any chips, light still goes trough very well, but i must admit it is less than without it obviously. i need to work on signaling when i turn as well :D

boxstar, thx man, i know you like my older ones for some reason hahah

ddb, im getting an alignment because of the new setup, if everything works out with this place that is doing it i will have 3ys of alignment, i can come in anytime i want within that period as many times as i want so that should be a good investment

blkboxster, is that all the !!!'s as u can put, or did you run out of space hehe, thx

btw, heres my new wallpaper :D

Looks Good!
Your car is a unique mix of colors. :D

986speedster 09-22-2007 06:32 AM

Ive gone from not liking your car, to loving it. Those wheels turn your car into a mean looking machine. Good job!!

easyc 09-22-2007 07:40 AM

I like them! Nice photos...

Two things...

Whenever you use spacers you need longer bolts....
And those 275/40 look huge in the rear... your speedo is going to have be off. Do you have PSM? That could be messed up as well as the ABS too...

Exactly. Love the wheels.

Jeph 09-22-2007 08:35 AM

Nice improvement. Looks very unique. But Mladen, c'mon... I'll let you keep the color coated side markers, but those headlights just KILL me. Just because you CAN paint something doesn't mean you should. This is just the designer in me talking (I'm actually writing this while IN a design conference.). I know, I know, it's your car and you can do what you want... But with the high gloss of your new wheels and the ever-shinyness of your paint, the painted silver up front isn't flowin'. Let's get you some clears -or better yet, Litronics. I only say this because I care about the well-being of you and your car.

djomlas 09-22-2007 09:59 AM

Jeph, you crack me up.
funny, i actually had 3 leads on clear lights, but never really went trough it...ehhh.
i rather spend that money autocrossing than some clear lights :D

SC986 09-22-2007 11:13 AM

Man those new wheels look awesome DJ! A huge difference in the look of your car. What type of settings did you use in the pics?

djomlas 09-22-2007 11:18 AM

i shoot all manual, so every one of them was different.
but then i spend some time in photoshop making them even better if i can.

Perfectlap 09-22-2007 12:02 PM

These are exactly the wheels that came to mind when you painted your previous wheels black. The center caps came out perfectly.
I might have gone with metallic gun metal or metallic silver calipers to compliment your rare metallic jade green paint, but yellow serves up a nice contrast too.

p.s.
I think you need a new font for your photog signature.
The caligraphy style lettering looks weird on sports car pics.

boggtown 09-22-2007 02:51 PM

Look an inch short.... :p
And your cars an inch too high... :p
lol... but anyways, nice.

bmussatti 09-22-2007 03:08 PM

Cool pics. I like the way the yellow calipers reflect a huge yellow image on the polished wheel lip.

yellowboxster01 09-22-2007 05:31 PM

Ebay? $695? Modular wheels?

djomlas 09-22-2007 05:34 PM

i actually had a seller that was gonna give them to me for 250 plus shipping

Boxter 09-22-2007 06:39 PM

Those wheels totally make that body color sing DJ...
....worth whatever you threw down for them.

...and that is best of your sigs. Nice work.

I have intended to change my sig a million times and I just don't make the time to take any pics of it...my current sig pic was taken the first few days of ownership before the side and rear lights were deambered...

Some day I'll get aournd to it.

djomlas 09-22-2007 07:44 PM

take some pics and u can email me and ill make one for you, ive done it for a few members here, and they seem satisfied (i hope) hehe

pteam 09-22-2007 07:52 PM

Great looking rims man. I'm not a fan of black rims but I like your setup. Congrats!!!

williamsF1 09-23-2007 03:21 AM

I think they suit your car pretty good, but as far as authentic Posche-design and style goes this is a completely opposite direction of all that they stand for and even though it actually looks quite OK, it's still a bit too 'pimped out Subaru' to my liking.

WOW, $295 for a set and caps. :D Just imagine the bare cheap cost of manufacturing these wheels. These wheels are usually on the heavier side( +/- 30lbs each), and the added weight of the spacers. Goodluck if you auto-x.

actually these are very similar in design to the original 1993 Boxster concept wheels, almost identical really...

porsche986spyder 09-24-2007 07:56 AM

I love your new wheels DJ. Are those 18s or 19s? I to just bought some new rims. I will be getting them back today from being powder coated to match my car. They will be Metallic Seal Grey. This is what they will look like. Very similar to yours. I to like the 5 spoke design.
