Grizzly 09-21-2007 09:32 PM

Nice, D.J. They really change the personality of the car. Great photos, as always.

Kumho Exsta ASX are Good tires for the $$$$ but

They are not great (or even good) "winter tires." Better than summer tires, but not much. I have had two sets on different vehicles including a current set of 17s on a Boxster. Decent tread wear, a bit noisey after 10-15K mi, solid but not ouststanding grip, good in wet. In Blacksburg, they come off the car in November and 16" snows go on until late March. If Chicago is as bad as I remember, don't think of these as winter tires.
ATB,
Tom

i agree with that, but they are better than summer only tires i had and survived winter on

btw, this is my 4th winter on summer only tires, so this will be a first, and hopefully much better.

btw, i highly doubt that with my driving style they will even last close to 10k haha, so im not worried about how loud they get

nice pixs....hey what did you do to your front ambers? are those painted? if so does the light still go through?

boxstar 09-22-2007 01:48 AM

i prefer your old wheels, but thats just me ;)

nice choice, I had my eyes on those too. Are they 19's?

ASX are decent tires, mine were good for 30k miles so get use to them because youll have them for a while.

ddb 09-22-2007 03:52 AM

They look terrific! More inspiration to have my spokes done in gloss black in a year or two when I get bored with my wheels.

Did you need an alignment before the new combo was installed? Or are you doing it just for good measure because of the new combo?

I think the bumperettes would look great in body color.

Bambino Don 09-22-2007 03:58 AM

They are beautiful wheels. Completely suit the boxster, I like the chrome lip it really forces an emphasis on to the shapes of the bodywork especially the rear.

well done, take a bow!!

OMFG, DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THATS LOOKS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!

djomlas 09-22-2007 05:19 AM

thx for the responses guys.

waynes986, i painted the front ambers silver, and then put a clar film over them so i dont get any chips, light still goes trough very well, but i must admit it is less than without it obviously. i need to work on signaling when i turn as well :D

boxstar, thx man, i know you like my older ones for some reason hahah

ddb, im getting an alignment because of the new setup, if everything works out with this place that is doing it i will have 3ys of alignment, i can come in anytime i want within that period as many times as i want so that should be a good investment

blkboxster, is that all the !!!'s as u can put, or did you run out of space hehe, thx

btw, heres my new wallpaper :D

Looks Good!
Your car is a unique mix of colors. :D

986speedster 09-22-2007 06:32 AM

Ive gone from not liking your car, to loving it. Those wheels turn your car into a mean looking machine. Good job!!

easyc 09-22-2007 07:40 AM

I like them! Nice photos...

Two things...

Whenever you use spacers you need longer bolts....
And those 275/40 look huge in the rear... your speedo is going to have be off. Do you have PSM? That could be messed up as well as the ABS too...

Exactly. Love the wheels.

Jeph 09-22-2007 08:35 AM

Nice improvement. Looks very unique. But Mladen, c'mon... I'll let you keep the color coated side markers, but those headlights just KILL me. Just because you CAN paint something doesn't mean you should. This is just the designer in me talking (I'm actually writing this while IN a design conference.). I know, I know, it's your car and you can do what you want... But with the high gloss of your new wheels and the ever-shinyness of your paint, the painted silver up front isn't flowin'. Let's get you some clears -or better yet, Litronics. I only say this because I care about the well-being of you and your car.
