cabin leak
Hello Fellow Boxster lovers, I recently discovered yesterday after all the rain we got here in Va. that there was water in both sides of the car when I went to drive it. I have a 99 and this has never happened before. I called the dealer and they said that it was odd. I was wondering if I should take it in or is there something I can do myself to fix the problem.

There are 2 drains under the top. Check to see if they are clear.

Under the top. You need to put the top in the service position.
There are also 2 drains under each side of the battery but I had to quess as all you said was there was water in both sides of the car. Each door also has 2 drains.

Check out under the driver's seat, see if there is water around the anti-theft unit (it's a black box ).

I checked today and the passenger side is soaking wet!! There is also a little bit on the driver's side. COuld it be the AC leaking the water onto the rug?

Yes it is the drains, either clogged,or popped off. You have no idea how many of these posts I see now it's summer time.

Front or rear? I'm sure my rear drains are good but haven't checked the front yet.

I'm not sure if it is rain related. The other day I turned the AC on while it was humid, I felt water dripping on my feet. WHen I checked under there, I felt a plastic rectangular pipe that was a little bit wet. I assumed it was from the humidity. As far as rain is concerned, water cannot get in there (front of the seat) and leave area under the seat dry.

In this picture, the water in my case was leaking from there to the back of the seat. This Water Pan/Drip is very hard to replace so I just plugged the hole with RTV and glue. Water still leaks but not as much at before, I still have to seal it more with that stuff.
ON the passenger side, there is a small trail of water on the rug coming down from the dashboard. I don't know the source though.

There's no water underneath or behind my seats, just on the floor board panels by the peddles.
