Does anyone have these bulbs?
"
* Porsche Silver Bulbs Set
(gets rid of the amber!)
* 2 pair of bulbs:
- side marker
- rear turn
* $23.96
These silver bulbs are the real deal! Not painted on windows. They're true chrome bulbs that flash amber when lit.
Please compare with others, as well as the Sylvania and Philips bulbs that are purple! These are 100% chrome and if you're not happy - send them back to me on the house!"
With a guarantee like that, I'm tempted to try them.

Purchased from the same vendor. Bulbs are great but there customer service did not impress me. I was sent the wrong bulbs and it took waaay to long to finally receive the correct bulbs.

You guys who have them, did you put them all the way around? ie taillights, marker, and headlights?

Yup, all the way around. Also, installed a set of Silverstar headlight bulbs, which apparently don't last very long.

I have them on the tails and side markers. I am too fearful to do the mod on my litronic headlamps to use a soldering iron and heat up the amber inside so I can put in clear bulbs.
It really makes the rear end of the car look much nicer.

damn, Randall your car looks so much different than your avatar picture. Very nice.
I think I'll pick up some of those chrome bulbs. What's this about a soldering iron and heating up the plastic though?

Dont, just a light spray of high temp silver will do the same thing. Ive got it on my past 2 cars and its the exact same. Blinks orange and everything but silver outside. A light coat of paint is cheap...

yup i did it on my old cars, just paint the whole thing silver, and leave a little triangle on the bottom of the bulb, and it will blink orange.
cost=if you got silver paint from something else, free

Henry did another amberectomy. this time on a 996 with litronics, at our last work on cars day.
Had to make the owner look away, and close his eyes, during the operation.
Next time you are in town....

I am really tempted to try my hand at the amberdectomy and ordered silver bulbs for the front as a way to convince myself. Now do I load up on my normal amount of caffeine or go cold turkey for two days before trying this. Either way my hands shake. Let's just say I would make a very bad brain surgeon.

I have them in there rear only. They're very nice.
I too would steer clear of anything with the painted up glass + triangle of orange. The orange can still find a way to reflect at certain angles.
The "clear" Sylvania (or maybe GE?) lights I bought actually appeared green-ish and blue-ish. Not cool.

Dr. Henry has all those bulbs. All that is missing from the pic is the silver bulb that blinks amber for the side marker.

triangle?? wtf? Ive never painted a triangle and they still blink 100% orange. Maybe they put too much paint on, a light mist just to silver it is enough. Id say a half second burst from above and one to the sides.
